When Milagros Vicente sits across from a worried parent, she doesn't just understand their situation, she has lived it. For 38 years, she has raised a son with Cerebral Palsy, learning firsthand how overwhelming the system can feel and how much difference the right guidance makes. That experience is the heart of everything she does.

Today, she turns that hard-won wisdom into real support for other families. As a bilingual Special Needs Advocate, Certified Life Coach, OPWDD Authorized Self-Direction Independent Broker, and Accessibility Consultant, she meets families where they are, in English or Spanish, with warmth and without judgment.

She has served as a Parent Advocate, as Founder and Executive Director of a nonprofit for individuals with special needs, and for nine years as an award-winning Board of Education Trustee , championing special education, the least restrictive environment, transitional services, and culturally responsive education. Her advocacy has earned numerous recognitions, but the recognition she values most comes from the families she helps.
